HIREFONE GROUP - THEFT AND DAMAGE PROTECTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.0 CONDITIONS

1.1 This protection will only apply, if the Renter has paid for the Theft and Damage Protection option in accordance with these Conditions, due to theft or damage relating to equipment rented from Hirefone.

1.2 In the event of a claim being accepted by Hirefone then the Renter will not be liable to pay more than the current excess/deductible applicable to the relevant item(s) of equipment. Indemnity for unauthorised call usage as a result of theft will only be given from the time that Hirefone has been notified of the theft, initially by telephone and confirmed in writing within 24 hours.

2.0 EXCLUSIONS

2.1 Theft and Damage Protection exclusions include:
2.1.1 accidental loss howsoever occasioned except for theft, subject to Sections 2.3, 2.1.4 and 2.1.5.
2.1.2 claims for loss of use of the equipment or consequential loss of any nature;
2.1.3 theft from an unattended vehicle unless securely locked out of sight in the boot/trunk or glove compartment;
2.1.4 theft from any convertible or open top road vehicle;
2.1.5 theft where the equipment is left unattended and/or out of sight of the Renter where the Renter's staff, business associates, family and/or the public have unrestricted access, or where no entry/exit by visible forcible means occurs;
2.1.6 damage arising from any change, alteration or modification involving the date change to the year 2000, or any other date change;
2.1.7 any claim made which is fraudulent in any respect.

3.0 CLAIMS

3.1 In the event of a claim the Renter must:
3.1.1 take all necessary steps to minimise damage and to preserve evidence of damage and its cause, and return this to Hirefone;
3.1.2 immediately notify the Police in the event of malicious damage or theft, obtaining a Police crime report number;
3.1.3 inform Hirefone as soon as possible;
3.1.4 supply Hirefone with full written details.

4.0 EXCESSES/DEDUCTIBLES

4.1 The following amounts will be deducted from any accepted Theft and Damage Protection claim:

4.2 Hirefone reserves the right to amend it's charges without notice, subject to changes in manufacturers' equipment prices and exchange rate fluctuations.
